BUDGET:

The most basic service provided by the Sheriff’s Office is through that of its employees.  Through these well-trained, professional men and women, the people of Cherokee County are both served and protected through responses from Patrol, Investigations, Victim Services, Detention, 911 Communications and Administrative personnel.  To aid in keeping costs low, the Sheriff’s Office uses a complement of part-time personnel that are cross-trained in several areas to meet the ever-increasing demands of this Office. 

During the Fiscal Year 2009-2010, the Detention Center, utilized part-time personnel to complete:
        • 198 inmate transports
        • 144 involuntary commitments
        • representing over 5,000 manpower hours

Total personnel cost = $60,176
Total mileage cost = $37,414.42
